What is 'contemporary' art?
Contemporary art simply means art made by living artists. It doesn't refer to any particular style or medium.
What is an art fair?
A place where artists show their work to the buying public. Visitors can browse each exhibitor's stand and talk to them about their work. You can buy artworks direct from the artist or gallery to take away with you on the day or arrange to have delivered. An art fair is the ideal environment to learn more about contemporary art and to find that special piece to add the finishing touch to your house or office.
Where is Reading Contemporary Art Fair being held?
Rivermead Leisure Complex, Richfield Ave, Reading RG1 8EQ. It is advisable to allow several hours to really appreciate everything there is to see. Many visitors make a fun, art-filled day of it.

There is ample reasonably priced parking at Rivermead Leisure Complex.
Do I have to book in advance?
Tickets are available on the door or can be purchased in advance at a discounted price. The ticket offers entry over the whole weekend.
How much does the artwork cost?
All the artworks are priced between £40 and £4,000.
I want to come but I won't have much time. What's the best way of finding something I like quickly?
Examples of work by all the exhibitors are available to view on our website. Browse through at your leisure before you come to the Fair, then head straight for the artists or styles that most interest you.
Can I bring my children?
Children are always welcome at the Reading Contemporary Art fair. There is plenty to keep them occupied, including creative workshops and a quiz.
Will I be able to get something to eat?
A licensed cafe serving pastries, light refreshments, lunch and delicious cakes will be open all weekend.
